The Need to Update

So I have been posting pictures on Flickr and Facebook and have gotten back about updating this page. Check me out on Facebook as Rusty Photography and on Flickr as tjockisbonde. I'll try to update this page more but here are a few of my favorites that never made it to this page.

Playground Fun

My best friend from high school has been over in Japan for the last 3 years with the Air Force and while he and his wife were headed through town to their new posting in Texas, I got the chance to catch up with them a few days. One of the days, we ended up having a picnic at the park and I took a few pictures of their three kids while they were playing. The lighting that day was beautiful and I love how the pictures turned out.

Wendy's Ad anyone?

Brielle says to Kiera, "Give me a push!"

Great grandma helping to put shoes and socks back on.

I sure love catching up with old friends. The memories and laughter are so much fun. Photography is so great because it allows me to capture some of the moments we have together that are so few and far between now that we live so far apart.

Riding in Island Park

This weekend my wife and I came up to Island Park to spend some time with my parents while we still live in the area. I went for a good hill-climbing ride with two of my cousins and managed to get a few fun pictures of them climbing a hill. The customary stop at Big Springs gave me a great chance to get a picture of the water wheel at the Johnny Sack cabin. You'll notice that I tried out some of the vintage techniques I've been reading about. I like how they turned out.

Tautphaus Park Zoo

My wife is a huge lover of animals. As a treat when she finished her classes for the semester, I took her to Tautphaus Park Zoo for the Christmas with the Critters event they had going on. It was neat to be able to see some of the animals even in the snow that accompanies Idaho winters. Here are some of my favorites from that trip. It will be great to go back to the zoo when it is a little warmer.
